Common questions
Do I need to install an app?
No. Everything happens right here on this page, on your phone, tablet, or computer. If you can watch a video, you can use VidGolf.
How should I film my swing?
Have someone stand a few paces directly behind you and hold the phone steady (or lean it on your bag). Daylight works best. If your phone has slow-motion, use it. The ball shows up sharper. Trim the clip so it starts just before your swing.
Do I have to wait on the page?
No. Type your email before you choose the video. Once the upload reaches 100% you can close the page, and we'll email you a link to watch and download your video. The link works for 90 days. If no email arrives within 30 minutes, the trace failed on our side, so please upload the video again.
Can I upload a whole range session?
Yes, up to 2 minutes. Choose "Several shots" before you pick the video. We find each shot by the sound of the club hitting the ball, so the video needs its sound, and the phone should stand close enough to hear the strike. You choose what comes back: the full video with every shot traced, a traced clip of each shot, or clips with no trace. Up to 10 shots per video. A practice swing that hits the ground sounds like a shot, so it can come back as an extra clip.
What happens to my videos?
They're processed automatically. Your original upload is deleted after 7 days; the traced video stays in your history for 90 days so you can come back for it, then deletes itself too. We never post, share, or sell them. The traced video is yours.
What if the ball can't be found in my video?
It happens, usually in low light or with a very shaky camera. You'll get your video back unchanged, you can press "Try again with AI" for a second attempt, and the filming tips above fix it almost every time.
Is it really free?
Yes. There's nothing to buy and no watermark: the video you save is the full, clean version. To keep it running for everyone, each connection can trace up to 5 videos a day.
